About Our Surgeons
Dr. John Heieck, Dr. John Edney, Dr. Richard Bruneteau, and Dr. Marie Montag are all board-certified by
the American Board of Plastic Surgery and bring years of experience to each consultation and surgery.
Dr. John Heieck: Dr. Heieck graduated and completed his residency in General Surgery from
Creighton University. He completed medical research during his two years in the United States
Army and finished his training in Plastic Surgery at Baylor Medical Center in Houston before
completing an additional fellowship in hand surgery in Los Angeles.
Dr. John Edney: Dr. Edney graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine with his
medical degree and went on to complete his 5-year residency in general surgery at Creighton.
He completed a one-year fellowship in surgical oncology at Creighton before going on to
complete his plastic surgery training (and an additional fellowship in microvascular surgery) at
the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Richard Bruneteau: Dr. Bruneteau graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical
Center and went on to complete his general surgery residency at the University of Iowa and
his plastic surgery residency at the University of California at San Francisco. He went on to
complete a fellowship in micro-vascular surgery at the University of California and a fellowship
in craniofacial surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Dr. Marie Montag: Dr. Montag received her Medical Degree from Creighton University, where
she later went on to complete her residency in General Surgery. She traveled to the University
of Wisconsin in Madison to continue her training in plastic surgery for two years, before
studying Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic surgery for an additional year in Salt Lake City, Utah.
